It has been a while since my last post, that I haven’t updated my blog. Feels like being disconnected! Since then, I have been more or less engaged in analyzing my research data and writing the research results. A revised version of the paper I presented in ICL2012 was published in International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET), Vol 8 (2013): “Content Aggregation and Knowledge Sharing in a Personal Learning Environment: Serendipity in Open Online Networks.”
During this year, I was working on another paper about participants’ perceptions of learning and networking in connectivist MOOCs (massive open online courses). It was originally submitted for the JOLT Special Issue on MOOCs but, since the reviewers suggested major revisions, and it undergone through two rounds of review, then it was finally accepted after the JOLT-MOOC was published! So, it is most likely going to be published in early 2014 in a regular issue with a special section on MOOCs.
At the moment, I have started working on another paper on “online ethnography.” As a researcher and participant in MOOCs for more than three years, I adapted online ethnography as the main research method to investigate learning ecology in open online environments such as MOOCs. I hope developing such a paper would be a fine contribution to the knowledge in this area.
